Tea has long been famed for it's skin purifying properties.
Green, oolong and white teas tend to be the best for the skin due to their extremely high levels of polyphenol antioxidants which reduce the damage caused by free radicals.
Not only is this good news if you're trying to slow those signs of ageing but also if you have skin allergies.
Tea is packed full of anti-inflammatories and green tea especially is being heralded as a potential new treatment for psoriasis sufferers.
Tea isn't just good for skin health when it's taken internally. It's great when applied topically too.
Pai was one of the first UK companies to use the oil extracted from the seeds of the 'camellia sinensis' tea plant in our organic skin care products.
Since then I'm flattered to see that a number of other companies have followed in our footsteps, although most have only produced balms and not creams.
(Read my earlier blog on balms vs. creams for why balms aren't really the right choice for sensitive facial skin.)
This wonder oil is the key ingredient in our certified organic Camellia & Rose Cleanser. Packed full of Omega 3 and Vitamins A, B, C & E it is the ultimate skin tonic and leaves skin super soft, supple and hydrated.
Tea-tastic.
